RECLAIMED RAILWAY SLEEPERS

Reclaimed railway sleepers for the garden are generally a stock item here at the Burton on Trent located Barton Fields Patio and Garden Centre.

If you prefer the rustic look as opposed to the cleaner look of the new timber blocks (or new sleepers as they are sometimes referred as), then the reclaimed railway sleepers may be the choice for your garden project.

One of the advantages to using reclaimed hardwood railway sleepers is that they are extremely durable. Ideal for retaining walls, planter features and dividers.

Reclaimed railway sleepers are not such a good choice whereby they will come into regular contact with skin (for example, used as a sitting area etc).

Barton Fields have supplied reclaimed railway sleepers for many years. Generally, we only deal with Grade 1 quality sleepers unless we specify otherwise. Grade 1 sleepers are classified as good quality railway sleepers as opposed to class 2 and 3 which can be badly bent and split. You are welcome to visit the centre to see what current stock is available.
